Didnt like nothing about Americas Best Value Inn in Amarillo...NOTHING...Grosses place EVER...It put a big damper in our vacation...Thank you Booked.net
The service staff was very unprofessional...place was moldy dirty...place smelt nasty dirty...double charge us until our bank called them up...Unsafe to walk under the second floor walkway...Ice machine broken...They told us to look for the maid for towels in which the maid was in one of the rooms doing what ever at between the hours of 8-10 at night..Cement walkway was all messed up and unsafe to walk on..controller to tv didnt work and was told someone was coming and never did...This place is very very BAD..So bad that we are taking this up with the Americas Best Value Inn corporate office to see if they will do anything with this motel nightmare experience we had...

Close to The Big Texan restuarant and other attractions.
Right off a major road. A couple of hairy manouvres to get in and out.

Room was dirty and I mean dirty! Carpet was not vacuum, dirty dust on the TV cabinet, fridge did not work, and there was faeces still on the toilet seat and bowl. It has ruined the reputation of Americas Best Value (in my opinion).

Close to the freeway, easy to find, friendly and helpful staff even though we arrived real late.
I reserved two rooms, but when I arrived only one reservation showed, which took some time to sort out. One of the rooms was not cleaned well, with stuff on the carpet and food that had been dropped into the ac was never cleaned out.

- It didn't smelled bad. Apparently cleaned. - Seems to be used mostly by truck drivers to stay overnight.
- We could feel the ground shacking when somebody walked in another room or outside. In the morning an helicopter passed close by and I sure we thought the building was coming to the ground; - The bed sheets were too small for the bed... it was hard not to sleep directly in the mattress; - The bed sheets were ripped in some parts and had some small red spots - wine? (hopefully...) - They have breakfast but it's horrible and it doesn't seem very clean.

The first night, when I arrived, tired, sore muscles, looking forward to a hot shower--I let water run 1/2 hr, no hot water. Finally took cold, then told them next. A.M. "WHy didn't you call us?" Who, at 11 P.M., wants to deal with front desk? I was exhausted. Next day, I rreturned hot and tired from a trip to Palo Duro Canyon, and found my room door partially open. No room service had been done. I was furious!! They would not refund any of my $$, except $10. Not $10 for each day, just $10. Very very poor. They should have not charged me for one of the nights, at the very least!!

The hotel was fine and quiet, though there is some highway noise. The sheets were clean and so was the bathroom.
I dealt with two different staff members and they were unfriendly, and largely unhelpful. Their answers were short, if they answered them. I was only staying one night so my questions weren't extremely difficult or demanding. I value how people treat customers because that is something that can be changed and I wouldn't stay here again soley based on how the people treat their customers.

Location is fine, just about a mile to get to the Big Texan. Free pool with the flier from front desk in attached bar. Cheap beer.
Very dirty, mold all over bathroom, dust everywhere. Do not take the challenge unless very desperate.
